Tahini Toast Two Ways

Tahini toast is one of my favourite easy toast recipes! If you’ve never tried tahini on toast before, I’ve written down all you need to know, along with step by step instructions for my two favourite toppings. This is a healthy breakfast toast that you don’t want to miss. Give it a go- I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised! 

Ingredients
  

For the savoury toast

  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 12 baby vine tomatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tsp balsamic glaze

For the sweet toast

  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 apple thinly sliced
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 20 g pecans roughly chopped
  • 2 tsp agave nectar (or maple syrup)

Instructions
 

For the savoury toast

  • Preheat your oven to 200°/fan 180°.
  • Place the vine tomatoes and chopped garlic on a baking sheet, and drizzle them with olive oil. Rub the oil in, and season them with salt and pepper.
  • Roast them in the oven for 20 minutes until they’re bursting open and slightly charred.
  • Toast the bread until golden. Spread the tahini over the toast, then top with the freshly roasted tomatoes and garlic, a good helping of sea salt, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.

For the sweet toast

  • Toast the bread until golden. Spread the tahini over the toast, then top with the thinly sliced apple, a sprinkling of cinnamon, chopped pecans, and a drizzle of agave.

Notes

If you’re preparing for a crowd, you can use the combined grill and oven setting- this way you can grill your bread in the top and roast your tomatoes and garlic in the bottom. Slice the apples whilst these are cooking, and everything will be ready at once.
